Mug Shots Removal is Big Business

RobertWiggenMugShot-ownerofmugshotsitesWho would have thought we would live in a day where we could have extortion and online blackmail so rampant as it is with businesses ruining peoples lives? It is happening, Folks. What happens is someone is arrested from a warrant (even when turning themselves in) or any other arrest and it is posted on the county or city jail sites which is public information. The photos are normally just up for a limited time such as 24 hours so the family or friends may bail them out of jail but the information may still be there. Bots come along and scrape these jail sites and then post the photo and all the information then put up links and heavily SEO (Search engine optimization) words and URL’s to include their names even including a fake newsstory to make it more real for Google and search engines. You might think this is a great thing because it makes “criminals” pay for what they did and will teach them a lesson. Just wait until it happens to you and you may also know that it happens without being found guilty. These are basically innocent people because they have not been to court yet and not even had a chance to enter a plea in most cases. Just because you are arrested does not mean guilt.

It almost reminds me of the book “Scarlet Letter” where the lady had to wear an adultery letter on her in public and be bullied and hated among the community. You have got to wonder how many suicides have been contributed to these mugshot sites? Why aren’t these sites being sued or outlawed by our government or unindexed by Google, Yahoo, and Bing? Get Your Free Food Stamp Card

food stamp credit cardCome on… it’s the new American Way to feel like the CEO of Exxon to take welfare out of everyone else’s pocket and put it in your own. Who cares about the American Economy we should just make sure everyone is on food stamps. Let’s make these food stamps flashy and look like credit cards so they can be sexy looking and people will be on them forever. People will never get off their food stamp addiction because they will have no embarrassment of using them in public.

We should all get on food stamps and see how fast we can take down the American Economy. Or wait its already wrecked anyway so we wont feel so bad right?

Seriously, these Food stamp cards do not even say the words “food stamp” on them. I think it is ridiculous that we are just giving away taxpayer money so people can go parading around with flashy credit cards. There are even advertisements airing on TV and radio where you can hear a conversation of people basically bragging of using food stamps making it sound cool. It is not cool… it is getting money for doing nothing and should only be used as a temporary source of “help” while trying to feed your family in rough times or times such as a layoff.

I think its fine that food stamps are now electronic but they should say the word “food stamps” on them. I am not saying they should be the Scarlet Letter but there should be an indication to people they are a temporary thing and a last resort.

Chase Freedom Card Misleads Consumers

Chase Manhattan once inherited the best credit cards from First USA and Bank One. They took in the good credit cards and temporarily made them better. The problem is that now corporate greed has made them confuse the consumers about what rewards they are really getting.

The biggest rip-off I have seen in the credit card industry has now come from my favorite credit card issuer. The new Chase Visa Freedom Card is so misleading to card holders that it deserves attention as a fraud.

What you think may be coming in your wallet may never actually come. If you shop at Whole Foods and you think it’s a grocery store well according to Chase it doesn’t count as one when it comes to rewards. That is just sickening and sad that Chase could be so greedy that it does not count Whole Foods as a grocery store. Does Whole Foods get its own text book category – should we just rewrite any definition of a business we have learned?

Of course, none of the rewards programs allows Wal-Mart to count as a grocery store even though they do have grocery stores. I assume their gas stations do not count as gas either. The computer your looking at may not even be a computer it could have counted as a printer according to these fools.

What about fast food? You would think that KFC, Papa John’s, and Popeye’s Chicken would count as fast food but according to a recent report it states that Chase does not count these for the 3 percent cash back on the Freedom Card. You mean to tell me that KFC is not fast food? I am now starting to wonder if the Bush Administration cronies are working over at Chase.

So now I think someone needs to get fired or impeached. This one takes the cake because we have learned that Sprint and Verizon do not count as telecoms. Maybe Chase is playing favoritism to AT&T trying to steal them from their longtime partner Citibank for a stab at the highly popular Universal Card.
The backlash has just now begun for Chase. The word will get out and as more people find out the more will switch to the other more “rewarding” programs.

Although, My faith in credit card rewards programs are at an all time low. Chase has let me down, Citibank has nothing left but the most useless “Thank You” points, and Bank of America wants you to play round with counting “Change”.

What’s left? You can weed through all the programs at Capital One and see if any of them make sense (if you have the time). And you can Discover if you like to only get back a fourth of a percentage point.

No, really. There are some good programs with most of these issuers but it takes a lot of looking through the fine print, calling customer service talking to people that have no clue what rewards you may or may not be getting, and checking out sites such as and to try to help. The only bad thing is the credit card companies try to regulate what these card review sites try to say in their copy points so you have to read the reviews and pay less attention to the copy points. They threaten to take them out of their card affiliate program if they do not use their exact bullet or copy points outside of the review.

Our request to the credit card companies: Tell us the truth about what programs get rewards or not. Tell us the before we apply for the card. We understand that card issuers make less on some purchase because of business partnerships with Sam’s Club or some discount chains. Why not tell us before so we can choose if we want your card and goto another better card that offers discounts on our frequent eating at KFC and shopping at Whole Foods. The consumer deserves to know beforehand and the credit card companies should all be ashamed in these types of tricky business practices.

Our Favorite credit card picks include lower gas mileage cards and along with others that help save the environment such as the Brighter Planet Visa or the GE Money Earth Rewards MasterCard.

Liberal Investing

If you wish to go green with your investing for 2007 there are many routes you can take these days.  One route you can take is investing with Sunpower (SPWR), a play on global solar cells products that are more efficient that most solars.  Sunpower is also less obtrusive than windpower but comes with more expense for consumers.  I have invested in SPWR and seen some good gains so far out of this stock.

Yesterday’s announcement of the new iphone from Apple Computer which also changed to Apple Inc. left America’s jaws wide open.   We were all in shock over the computer maker’s switch into the digital world with a breakthrough iPod phone that is 500 times better than even the latest iPod.  This is the first invention made out of America in decades that I feel will actually do some good for our exports to other countries.  I think the iPhone is ahead of other phone products including Treo and Motorola by five years at least (as Steve Jobs says).  Every liberal should own shares of AAPL known for Apple Inc.  The only problem I have with the new iPhone is their relationship with the monopoly of AT&T (T) who owns Cingular Wireless.

Other liberal stock plays include alternative forms of energy, organic grocers, and companies that give back to the community.  Energy may not be a good area to be in right now with gas prices so low but we have heard that Whole Foods could be a bargain at its current low stock price.  The Whole foods ticker symbol on the stock market is WMFI.  Other organic foods stocks are HAIN Celestial foods under symbol HAIN.

There are many companies that help out the environment and save on the bottom line while saving energy.  I would look for stocks of companies that build buildings that retain heat and use solar energy.  Whole Foods, for instance, contracts wind energy to use for most of its stores.

Jim Cramer on CNBC’s Mad Money says it best when he told a caller that you can invest in what you think will make money then after the money is made it’s what you do with the money that matters.  If you invest in Altria who owns Kraft and Marlboro cigarettes then you could turn that profit into a donation to a charitable trust like Jim Cramer does.
